He has a bit of a phobia of heights. It's not paralyzing, and if he's with a bird laguz he's fine, but ever since he leapt off a house as a little kid and broke his legs, he's been nervous about them.
While he's quite tall and can look intimidating, on the inside, he's as soft as fluff. He's a little timid, sometimes very quiet (especially when feeling nervous), and is generally patient enough that small children can tug and pull at him without really irritating or angering him. It's amusing in a way, for someone so imposing at times to be so gentle and quiet, though those who pay attention to the aura he gives off can tell it's not too threatening.
Unless he's mad. Nyko is still a wolf, and when he gets angry, he can snarl and howl with the best of them, tearing things apart with a fieorcity that stops humans in their tracks.
He's a hopeless romantic, pining for the person he likes if they aren't together and being utterly cute and fawning if they are. He can blush very hard when teased about them as well, and definitely blushes when they act sweet towards him. He struggles to confess, though, feeling like his affections are a burden since the ones he likes are rarely his own kind.
He's very observant and can tell how people feel about him, not just from their words and actions but from subtle tells or senses. It's the same as with a tame dog -- they can sense if you don't like them, and they can sense when a person isn't a very good person, and Nyko has inherited that quite a bit. However, this is only when it comes to everything but romantic overtures; he is utterly clueless when someone is flirting with him, and often misses any sign of interest, no matter how big or small.
He uses this observant nature to do what he can to help people as much as he can. From just running notes or supplies to trying to comfort someone to helping them out, Nyko does whatever is in his power to make things better or happier for everyone around him. He doesn't neglect himself to do it -- he's as selfish as any living creature should be for their own health and happiness -- but he also enjoys helping others for the sake of helping and getting their smiles, too.
He trusts his friends implicitly. If they ask for his help, he'll go along with it without asking many questions, knowing they won't lead him into trouble.
He's lightning-fast, even for a wolf. While he can't match a bird in the sky, he can beat out a lot of land animals, and someone has jokingly suggested he try racing a cheetah, since they bet he could beat it.
He's also quite sensitive, and can easily be brought to tears by things, whether good or bad.
